We always start with disposables and switch to cloth once the umbilical cord falls off or the shower dipes were gone (huge money saver, but it does take an initial investment). So I do not know how many to stock. I do know that neither of my children was ever in a newborn size and my smallest started in a size 1/2 (they were doing combo sizes then) and Z (who was under 10 pounds) started in a 2, so I would not suggest buying a lot of the smallest sizes. Good luck!! Yay for new babies!!!!
