Do you hate crunches as much as I do? They’re bad for your back anyway. Skip the curl ups and go for core yoga instead!
On thing I love about workout DVDs is that they are an affordable workout option. $16.99 will buy you Shiva Rea Core Yoga on DVD which includes 7 mix and match segments so you can customize your workout to your time limits, your needs for that day, or just to keep things interesting.

Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Workout will be available exclusively at Target and Target.com on DVD September 12, 2011.
This is the second DVD workout from TV star, bestselling author, Skinnygirl Margarita creator, and soon-to-be talk show host Bethenny Frankel.
As Bethenny says in the welcome segment of the DVD, “Life gets hectic—some days I have 30 minutes to work out, other days I have 45, and sometimes I only have 15. That’s why I designed the Skinnygirl Workout with three quick yoga segments that tone the entire body. You can squeeze in a segment every day, or do a couple several times a week—the most important thing is that you enjoy it.”
This workout DVD consists of 3 workout segments and 1 bonus stretch segment.
Workout 1 – 15 minutes
Workout 2 – 20 minutes
Workout 3 – 15 minutes
Bonus Stretch – 12 minutes
What Do I Think?
Bethenny Frankel and yoga instructor Mike McArdle take you through the entire workout as a team with Mike in the leadership role and Bethenny being the example to those of us trying to get the hang of this. While she is clearly in good shape, she does “keep it real” and helps to demonstrate and explain things from the perspective of a regular person.
It was nice having a male yoga instructor on this DVD. I could actually see my husband giving this one a try with me (he keeps saying he’d like to try yoga, but he doesn’t like how girly the DVDs tend to be). No doubt Mike brings a male perspective while Bethenny balances it out as the female counterpart.
I recommend starting with the bonus stretch segment. Especially if you’re new to yoga or if it’s been a while since you last did it, warm up before diving in. I also really like that this DVD is divided into short segments so it’s flexible (a yoga DVD that is flexible, haha) for your schedule.
If you’ve been doing yoga, you’ll love Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Workout DVD as it covers your basics while pushing you further while still being approachable. If you’re completely new to yoga, I recommend starting with Bethenny’s first workout DVD Body By Bethenny with Bethenny Frankel as it’s a little more newbie friendly.
