New to Couponing

Bills, bills and more bills. Medical, medical and more medical bills. I can’t work (disabled) and DH is working 2 jobs to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I’ve looked all over the internet without finding a legit source of income. I’m beside myself. God, what can I do to contribute to our household and help ease the load? Two or three days later the neighbor came home from the grocery store, yells at me to “come see, come see”. Well, I strolled across the lawn and in to her back door.

Wow, what a sight! She must have had 50 bags of rice, 25 deodorants, canned food, freezer goods, toilet paper, paper towels and soap. She had bags of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent, softener and on and on. She then said a friend showed her how to shop with sales combined with coupons. Most of what she got was free or for near free. Needless to say, I was impressed. I wanted some of what she had.

The only exposure to coupons I had ever had was when I was a newlywed and my new MIL had me driving her all over the place to get one or two items at each of 10 or so stores. That was enough to turn me off of coupons for 30+ years. That was until my neighbor said “check out AFullCup.com”. Still not thoroughly convinced, I came home and got on my computer and came to AFC. I spent the next two days here at the sight reading everything I could and learning. I found that the information was accurate, up to date and informative. I found the people here were more than eager to help me. They answered even the dumbest of my questions in a loving, friendly and tutorial way. I couldn’t have done as well as I have had they not opened the site to me and taught me freely. I have developed such loving relationships here that this has become my second family. It’s been awesome for me. That was the beginning of what now has become an addiction of sorts…a good healthy addiction.

What I’d like to do with you, is to walk you through step by step. My way, by no means, is the only way to do couponing. It is the way I started and I continue to learn every day. I spent hours every day when I first started, but that’s not necessary. The more you invest, however, the more you learn and the more you save. So, join me if you will. Send me feedback with questions and comments. I’m still learning so perhaps we’ll learn together.

So, what started out as a question to God “what can I do to contribute to our household” became a certain answer………SAVE MONEY!

I love your can do attitude. I’m looking forward to seeing your method. I’ve been reading AFC for a while but don’t have nearly this kind of success.

I am so glad you learned to save money by couponing! I also am disabled and am on a very rigid income. I have 2 children still at home and am a single mom. I needed help and I needed it bad! I ran across the freebie sites and I was impressed with those but then I got kinda bored with those and I started checking out the coupon tabs on those sites. Wow! What I have learned over the last year has been amazing! I only wish I had known this 25 yrs ago! I am still learning every day. I still want to be the coupon lady that walks out with only paying a few cents for a lot of stuff! I want the biggest stockpile it goes on and on and it is a very good thing. It has helped with my budget so much and with Christmas this year.

I am so thankful to AFC and all the other sites that are shareing all they know so we can save to!
    You all are Awesome!
    Thank you!

Awesome! You give me hope that I can really make this work despite those who think it’s really not going to save us much money. Thanks!

For those of you who need supplemental income, work for mystery shopping companies! I know a couple, if you’re interested, email me, meyermv@gmail.com. AFC also has a forum that I’ve never looked at, b/c I am currently working with a few companies already. On top of that I work full time, am a part time student and I COUPON!
Couponing can take a lot of time, as I am with two trains, look through WLs, and send expireds overseas. I have used more stamps in the last two weeks than I have in the last year b/c of this. hehe, but it’s worth it. At first the thought of two trains was a bit daunting, as one required a 25 Q envie and the other required a 30 Q evie. I thought to myself where am I going to get 55 Qs every week, since I only get one to two inserts. So far it’s worked ok.

Thanks for all the ideas though. I knew I could learn something.
