Hi and welcome back, everybody! Now comes the fun part. Learning to maneuver around the AFC site. When I first began, I had no earthly idea how to do that but, through trial and error (and there were a lot of those), this is what I’ve learned. I would like to help those newcomers to AFC learn more about the site and how to use it. I may not include everything there is to know, but I will try to give you enough information to make the site easier to manage. The AFC layout is very user friendly and it offers many, many options. I have found that the more you play around the site, the more you learn. First, I’d like to walk you through the basics. You’ve probably figured out most of what I’ll write, but maybe there’s something new to learn. Then in the next article I will address the User Control Panel.
After registering with AFC, you will see your User I.D., Settings, Inbox, Reputations and Logout listed on the top right-hand side of the page.
There are so many ways to save money. This is yet another part in a series of “How to save money” articles. See http://www.afullcup.com/Grocery-Coupon-Blog/20-ways-to-save-money-part-1/ and http://www.afullcup.com/Grocery-Coupon-Blog/20-ways-to-save-money-part-2/ for parts 1 and 2.
1- Carry reusable bags with you. Not only is this good for the environment, but some stores actually give you a discount for bringing your own bags. I know Target gives .05 per bag used and a local store here gives 10% off your entire order for bringing your own bags. All of the bags pictured were FREE. The purple ones were made by a lady who gave them out at one of our coupon parties and the other ones were found by searching AFC’s freebies section http://www.afullcup.com/forums/freebies/.

Many people have asked about my coupon binder and my organization. I have tried many methods in the past but I have found that this method works for ME. I have tried using the baseball card holders that everyone talks about- found the pockets too small and hard for my fingers to grab the coupons; I have used just regular envelopes where I had an envelope for each category; and I have tried the small accordion type organizer. I now use a three ring binder with 8 x 10 sheet protectors. Since I live in a small town and my stores are limited PLUS the fact that I usually buy the same things each week, this method tends to serve me the best.On the outside I have “Chris’s Coupons” and on the inside I have one of my address labels just in case I lose the binder. I usually have to get a new binder once a year and I also pick out a vibrant color. The binders I use also have pockets, so immediately inside I have some “special” coupons (Staples, Hallmark, etc) for places that I don’t normally frequent.
